Top 10 Principles for Living Life

Top 10 Principles for Living Life

1. Find MEANING

So why is it that most of us fail to understand ourselves and find our own unique definition of success?

Unfortunately, many of us charge down a path leading to "success" defined by the people around us, which ultimately leaves us feeling empty and dissatisfied.

Building a fulfilling life can be a challenging process that takes courage, awareness, and focus.

The key is knowing your purpose that drives your goals – visualise and prioritise WHY, WHAT and HOW you would like to accomplish your purpose.

Regularly clarify your purpose, and ensure that you are aligned with your purpose.

2. DEFINE the GAME you’re PLAYING

How do you create your own definition of success and maximise your unique potential?

Make sure you are not influenced by others playing a different game.

Have a clear vision with well-defined short, medium and long-term goals, but remain flexible enough to handle unexpected challenges.

3. PLANNING

Planning long-term can be more complex than it seems because your needs and goals change throughout your life.

Unless you are able to precisely predict the future, the most important part of your plan is to have a margin of safety or leave yourself some room for failure. To plan on things not going to plan.

Your success will be determined by how you respond in these moments. Plan for setbacks and accept the reality of change.

4. DEVELOP the MINDSET

Life has its challenges – learn how to manage destructive emotions, overcome your fears and embrace the challenges, rather than playing the victim.

Learn to develop the GROWTH MINDSET!

5. MASTERMIND GROUPS

Surround yourself with a trusted team of people who can balance your strengths and weaknesses, and are prepared to support your journey.

People who share the same values, purpose and inspiration. Relating with like-minded people can help improve your problem-solving skills and emotional intelligence.

This may mean it’s time to review who you socialise and connect with on a regular basis, and decide if they are supporting your growth!

6. INVEST in YOURSELF

Successful people appreciate the value of continuous learning and making time for doing things that nurtures their creativity, health and wellbeing.

Do what works for you to set-up your day in the best possible mindset.

7. IMPROVE your ABILITY to make DECISIONS

We all make decisions based on our past unique experiences.

Your ability to make decisions can change your situation instantly and affect you for the rest of your life.

It could mean the difference between making or breaking business deals, planning and meeting your personal and financial objectives to simply deciding what’s the best food choice for your health and well-being.

8. STOP moving the GOALPOSTS

The hardest skill is to get the goalposts to stop moving. If your expectations rise with expectations there is no logic because you will feel the same no matter how much effort you invest.

Life gets dangerous when you are unable to quench your insatiable appetite. Knowing when you have enough is the key to your success.

9. REVIEW & MONITOR your PERFORMANCE

To win or lose is only a measure of perception in comparison to others. Play your own game in life and recognise how you can improve for the next time.

Focus on what you have learned, rather than the ‘mistakes’, and the purpose that drives your goals.

The world is filled with people who appear unassuming in their abilities or achievements but are actually wealthy, and there are others who look rich and are living on the edge of insolvency.

Keep this in mind when judging or comparing yourself to other people’s success and setting your own life goals.

10. Learn to HANDLE MISTAKES with the courage to be imperfectly perfect.
